What data do I collect automatically and why? When you visit my site our web server automatically recognizes your domain name, but not your e-mail address. I collect the domain name and monitor general site use and traffic patterns to improve my web site and the stuff (information and free products) I offer. I use web server logs to collect data for metric purposes. Examples of the types of data collected on the logs are IP addresses, referral pages, date and time of Site access, and Site visited. I may use collected data to customize the content and/or layout of my pages for each individual visitor. This information is used solely for improving my web site and is never distributed in any way.
Do I use cookies? Yes and no. Cookies are used in my forum only to keep members in and non-members out. This helps prevent spamming of my message board and protects your privacy while using it. No other part of my site uses cookies for any reason.
What I do with email addresses and how is it protected? In many forms of my site you are not required to give me your email address. However, most of them have a place where you may, if you like, give me your email address. When an email address is provided, it stays only on my personal computer with updated virus software and can not be accessed by anyone at any time. I only send you things that you request, and no more than that. If you ask a question to be answered, I answer it and dispose of your email address (unless you wish for the conversation to continue, at which point I will save it in my personal file). I do not use commercial mailing lists. The more places your email address is, the more of a chance someone can get a hold of it. I choose to take full responsibility for addresses and protect them myself, not using an out side provider. This is a little more work for me but protects your email address better.
When would we disclose your information? We do not rent, sell, or trade any personally identifiable information about you (e.g., e-mail addresses) to third parties.
What about external links? For the convenience of my site visitors, I have provided links to third party web sites that are external to mine. These web sites are not operated or controlled by myself, and I am not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such external web sites. This includes, but is not limited to, all webring sites.
