  This is my gerbil. He loves to burrow and chew. He will shred anything I put in his cage! Toilet paper rolls are his favorite!! He is the most active critter I have. We let him run in his ball and, if he gets lucky, we let him run around freely in the critter room.
Many people think that gerbils and hamsters are a lot alike but they are not. Gerbils bounce when they run, hamsters waddle and don't move very fast. Although they both chew, gerbils take the cake! They will shred anything in their cage in a matter of seconds! We had to chew proof our gerbils' cage because he kept trying to escape. For the most part, hamsters are pretty laid back and happy anywhere but not gerbils. They want to go-go-go all the time! I've found out that it is impossible to run our gerbil out of energy! He is very fun to watch! |
